Tops Health was founded in 1984, offering physiotherapy and sports massage across Oxfordshire. When Nicola took over the business, significant changes occurred, expanding their locations to a total of four and their services as well. Focusing on three key areas of physiotherapy, health & performance, and body & mind, Tops aims to provide a holistic approach to all their patients.
What Did We Do?
Due to having four busy clinics, the shoot needed to be meticulously planned to make sure nothing was missed. We had a few calls with Nicola, discussing her goals for the shoot and how we would achieve them. It was decided that we would utilise three shoot days to get all the content shot: the first two initially to capture the bulk of the content and a third later down the line to incorporate social-style videos. We started at the flagship Summertown location to record interviews with staff and all the classes hosted there. All the clinics have unique features, so we made sure to focus on all the little details that make each clinic special. Having four clinics sets Tops apart, and it’s key to showcase that.
How did we do it?
Having two days of filming helped manage the heavy workload. We travelled to Oxford the night before the first day so that we could start bright and early, and another overnight stay was planned to get another full day on the second. With a big emphasis on movement in the clinic, we made sure to capture dynamic movements from yoga, box jumps, and Pilates. We wanted the philosophy to shine through, even if you had the sound off on the videos. With a busy schedule and not wanting to interrupt the business, we had limited time with each specialist. We made sure that any time we had was used to set up interviews, sound, and lighting, enabling the staff member to simply come in and start their interview or work with a model patient. Thankfully, the rooms were big and bright, filled with natural light, allowing us to save time in certain rooms by utilising the natural light to get great shots. Knowing we would have a third day, we made sure all the editing from the previous two days was done and with Nicola for review. This way, any replacement shots could be gathered on day three along with some additional social media content. To ensure we shot in the correct ratio for social media, Nicola advised us on which platforms she would be sharing on. This is key to shooting the content correctly, as trying to make the video fit after it is shot is like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.
What Were The Results?
Banner Video: Wanting to give their website the wow factor, we made sure to include an exciting reel to feature on their homepage.
About Us Video: The story of Tops is an impressive one; a lot of clients ask how the business came to be, so we decided to cover this in a video. Nicola’s story, her motivations, and plans for the future.
10 x Service explainers: Having many services can be confusing to some patients, so it is vital that we explained each one, the benefits, and who it is suitable for. This way, should a potential patient want to research a treatment, they have an expert guide to make an informed decision.
4 x Social Media Videos: Nicola knows the value of giving information away for free, so we decided that we would do that with some free advice on stretching that could be shared on LinkedIn.
Outtake Reel: With most shoots, this never gets seen, but Nicola wanted to provide an authentic look into the business and also the lighter side of the shoot. We packaged up the best bits and sent them over.
What Tops Had To Say
They really nail down the communication around their services, from the initial remit to concluding the job, everything is communicated beautifully and easily. Like us, I suspect many of their clients are not overly natural in front of the cameras. Rob and Alex communicate and organise everything to make the day enjoyable. They certainly got the outcomes that we were after. Thank you again for your complete professionalism and achieving a great outcome for our company.
