The HMDG Advisory Committee

“Is this vibrating red light wand that works on a cellular level legit?”

That’s a great example of the kinds of questions that lie in Jack Chew’s WhatsApp messages from us. Another might be “can you really cure chronic back pain holistically by breathing at pace whilst manifesting a pain free life and standing on a kettlebell?”

Why? From our inception, two things were clear.

1. To be respected in the space you have to earn your stripes, you have to act ethically, you need to understand great clinical care and you have to listen to people who know more than you.

2. To market healthcare effectively you have to truly understand the intricacies of the space and how this world works, it’s not just about profit, it’s about doing things the right way.

Since day one, not only was our co-founder a physio, but we’ve continuously hired great clinicians and industry people, whilst behind the scenes, we’ve quietly listened to trusted voices in the industry to help guide us, sense check our direction, pull us up on silly ideas that we might have (and we’ve had a few) as well as giving us deep industry knowledge that you can’t just learn yourself or read in a magazine. Some might be surprised to hear this but it’s rare we don’t throw an idea past his or someone else’s eyes before executing it. The two biggest ideas we’ve had in recent times, HMDG Connect and The Private Practice Barometer, were both thought up in tandem with a broad group of clinic owners, even if we eventually went on to execute them ourselves.

As HMDG has grown we think it’s important to not just rely on informal friendships but to formalise the process and show the industry what and who helps guide our thinking, providing even greater transparency.

Introducing the HMDG Advisory Board

We asked Jack to assemble a board of four influential leaders who he knows the industry trusts. We’ve brought them in to:

  • Pressure-test our ideas before they go to market.
  • Be a sounding board for our team.
  • Challenge our thinking to ensure we never get complacent.
  • Guide our direction so we stay aligned with patient needs and ethical standards.
